The Ambush of Ferris was a battle taking place during the Ithica Campaign as forces of the People's Army attacked a convoy of ULTIMUS mercenaries moving through the town of Ferris.
The well-coordinated attack was the first to show the true combat potential of the Acrid People's Army and the threat that they posed against the Capital Government of Acrid. It took over a week for fighting to come to an end.
The Battle[]
Day 1[]
The Capital Government begins sending supply convoys into several regions; Ithica, Pandora, and Styx. Each of these provinces have large numbers of sympathizers of the People's Administration and several armed platoons of the People's Army were already garrisoned there.
CGA supply convoys carrying cargo for outposts in these regions had to pass through these areas to deliver there equipment and allo construction to resume, however, convoys in the Ithica Valley came under heavy attack. ympathizers assisted People's Army troops in cutting off sections of the convoy from one another, scattering the convoy and leaving it's spoils to be siezed.
Day 2[]
A second CGA convoy was deployed, this time carrying mercenary squads. The convoy was tasked with freeing the operators of the convoy and hopefully reclaiming the stolen shipment from the hostile townspeople. After entering the Ferris settlement, the armored convoy was barred from exiting the way they came thanks to a makeshift barricade of old vehicles blocking the main road.
The convoy was quickly stopped in it's tracks when the driver of the troop carrier at the front of the convoy was killed by a sniper's bullet, thus causing all traffic behind the vehicle to come to a halt. Immediately after, the convoy was bombarded by a rain of armor-piercing rounds and explosives. Troops from the out-of-range rear of the convoy attempted to relieve pressure on the convoy by intercepting APA fighters.
