Gabriel Hatchett was a member of Cerberus who led the Pegasus Cell. He was secretly running a follow-up project based on the research done on Pragia.

Known as a particularly decisive man, Hatchett saw the Illusive Man as a good leader but he thought he could do better. He contested the Illusive Man's every decision and order so when he died, the Illusive Man blamed his lack of discipline.

Overview[]

Gabriel was born during 2156 on Shanxi. One year later, his father was killed during the First Contact War and his family was left in poverty. He was raised to hate the turians after what had happened to his family and homeworld so at the age of 17, he enlisted in the Systems Alliance military.

Years later, Gabriel takes part in the Skyllian Blitz and even fights alongside Shepard, though he doesn't receive as much commendation as the famous Commander. He felt unappreciated for his efforts during the Blitz and jealous of Shepard but while he was on leave, Hatchett was approached by a Cerberus contact who knew of his heroics and claimed that the Illusive Man was interested in recruiting him. Gabriel went AWOL soon after and joined Cerberus as a field agent.

Hatchett led several attacks against turian and batarian properties and effectively carried out the Illusive Man's orders. It was only a matter of time before he would be placed in charge of a minor cell known as Pegasus Cell. Not long after joining this cell, Gabriel would begin to defy the Illusive Man and after stumbling upon evidence of the Teltin Facility, decides to begin his own secret research into biotics.
