The Sustainment Divisions of the Systems Alliance Marine Corps were the principal providers of combat service support, logistical, and medical services to the
, and served as the Combat Sustainment Element component of their higher Marine Expeditionary Force. Sustainment Divisions were imperative for the support and continued operation of their lateral Marine Ground Divisions and Marine Air Forces, and were necessary for the prolonged deployment of Marine Expeditionary Forces in any theater of operations.
