During the Reaper Wars, the Validus began losing millions as the Reapers travelled to the Galaxy and laid waste to entire solar systems, annihilating all Validus life that inhabited them. In a desperate attempt to deal with a large number of Reapers, the Validus evacuated many of their worlds and activated high-powered signal emitters. This caused Reapers to swarm these abandoned systems by the thousands. As the solar systems filled with Reapers, the Validus did the truly desperate and began using Nova Reactors to detonate the stars of the Reaper-infested systems. This caused the annihilation of thousands of Reapers aswell as the safety of trillions of Validus lives.
