Nearly three years ago X-RAY was left for dead by Cerberus after being sent on a suicidal mission into Batarian space under the orders of KATANA and the Illusive Man. Contrary to the beliefs of his superiors, he survived the botched mission and slipped into the Terminus Systems where he created a new identity for himself and began going by a new monicker -- X. He is now the leader of a small but successful mercenary group -- the Head Hunters -- and has become a major enemy of various groups across the galaxy including the Blue Suns, the Blood Pack, and Cerberus. Now, X has found himself in an environment where he must face off against all three of these groups and other dangers as he works to strike a vicious blow against those who betrayed him.
